About

The aim of the Interdiscipliary Research Group (IAG) is to provide knowledge and guidance for science, media and politics to assure and promote high quality in public science communication in a digital media environment. To this end, the IAG conducts interdisciplinary meta research based on the current state of the art of such diverse fields as science communication research, media economics, law and computer science. Moreover, the IAG is committed to a continuous exchange with stakeholders in science communication in order to reflect and evaluate current developments.

The interdisciplinary working group started its work in July 2018 and is scheduled to run three and a half years. The 20 members of the IAG meet every quarter at the BBAW for a joint working meeting. There are also four sub-working groups withing the IAG, which meet regularly and deal with the following topics and questions:


IAG expert hearings at the BBAW

The sub-working groups are accompanied by expert hearings to ensure maximum practical relevance. So far, hearings have been held on topics dealing with scientific communiction and its upcoming challenges through digitalisation and maintaining high standards of quality.
